Biodiversity Day Bioblitz
Event description
Hello!
Our BioBlitz is just around the corner, and we want to make sure you have the best experience.
Please arrive just before 10am at the Thomas Crawford BBQ area as we will get started at 10 with an introduction to the event.
As our event will be outside please bring your water bottle, wear hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, appropriate shoes for outdoor activities, and clothing that is suitable for the changing weather conditions.
We’ll have a red flag up on College Road at one possible entrance to the BBQ area.
On the day, we will be uploading our observations in iNaturalist, a global repository of biodiversity data that can be used by scientists worldwide. We will also be able to compare our results with past years BioBlitz! To make sure you have the best experience, please download the app on your phone before you arrive.
If you have any trouble downloading the App, we will have pen and paper available on the day. We can show you how to use the app at the event, if you would like to check out the iNaturalist app before hand here is a list of useful videos on how to use iNaturalist: www.inaturalist.org/pages/video+tutorials
When you download the App, join the UTAS BioBlitz 2022 project, where you will be uploading your observations.
Being COVID-Safe at UTAS
We all have a role to play to keep each other safe. Here’s what you need to do, when you arrive on campus at the Thomas Crawford BBQ area, please check in with us so we have a list of attendees. Please stay home if you have a fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, or loss or change in sense of taste or smell, however mild. We will have future events that you will be able to join again.
