Biodiversity Tour of the Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi Grasslands
Event description
The City of Adelaide Biodiversity team will take you on a guided tour of one of the most unique parts of the city including the remnant grassland in Pakapakanthi, Victoria Park, the newly built wetland and the 2021 cultural burn site, Tuthangga.
Participants will get an inside look at how these sites are managed, their history and learn about significant fauna and flora of the area.
With any luck we’ll spot the rare Chequered-Copper Butterfly commonly seen in these sites and learn about its relationship with the ants and local food source.
Meet City of Adelaide staff at the park lands on the corner of Greenhill Road and Fullarton Road at 1:30 pm ready to start the tour.
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle and your camera!
