Event description

Intro to bioferts presentation plus a farm walk in Yanakie

Join us for this field day showcasing multiple sustainable agricultural practices.

Daniel Hodges from Soil, Water and Plants will give an introduction to biofertilizers - what they are, how they can benefit and be applied on farm, and how to make them.

Robert Tracy will share stories of actions that he, Sandra and farm manager Brad have taken on the Yanakie farm. The farm is adjacent to Shallow Inlet and carries a mix of beef cattle and young dairy cattle on agistment from two local dairy farms.

Robert will discuss their experiments with making and applying bioferts, agroforestry trial sites and an erosion remediation project about to commence.

Following the presentations we’ll visit the farm for a closer look.
