Join us for the 2025 Bio·R Planting Festival as we work together to reconstruct habitat for biodiversity!

This year, our goal is to plant 58,000 native seedlings 🌱 across 29 hectares 🌏 with the help of 850 amazing volunteers 🤠 - these numbers represent a 20% increase from last year. 

 

Tickets & catering contribution

To help manage catering and reduce food waste, we introduced a ticket structure that covers the catering costs.

  • Adult (full contribution): $28
  • Adult (partial contribution): $15
  • Teen (13-17 years): $15
  • Child (0-12 years): Free

Your ticket includes lunch, afternoon tea, tea, coffee, and water throughout the day. All meals are vegetarian. 

Important:

  • Please advise any dietary requirements during registration.
  • Please bring a plate, bowl, mug, and utensils - we’ll have a wash-up station on site.

Location

The festival will take place at Frahns Farm, Monarto - the entrance will be the same as last year, at our Frahns Farm (Frahns Farm Rd Site - East) gate. 

Daily schedule

🌱 9:30 AM – Arrival, briefing & morning planting session
🍽️ 12:00 PM onwards – Staggered lunch begins
🌱 1:00 PM onwards – Afternoon planting session
☕ 3:00 PM – Afternoon tea
🌱 3:30 PM – Join a guided property restoration tour with a Bio·R ecologist, assist with plant watering, or head home

What to bring

  • Weather-appropriate clothing (sun, wind, rain)
  • Sturdy footwear (work boots, gumboots)
  • Gardening gloves & hand trowel/mattock
  • Water bottle
  • Plate, bowl, mug & cutlery
  • Chair or picnic rug
  • Personal medication (asthma puffer, EpiPen, pain relief)

Other useful items

  • Bucket (to carry tools & water bottle)
  • Kneeling pad/stool for comfort whilst planting
  • Waterproof bag (for dirty boots & wet gear)

Bio·R is a South Australian grassroots charity dedicated to reconstructing habitats for native wildlife.

Our long-term goals:

🌏 100 hectares of habitat per year by 2032
🌏 1,000 hectares per year by 2045
