The BIPOC Creative Access Collective acknowledges the traditional Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation and their Elders, Past and Present. We stand in solidarity and action for collective healing of Land, Water, People and Culture.

BIPoC stands for Blak, Indigenious, People of Colour.

The BIPOC Creative Access Collective, supported by Darebin Arts is a rare development and presentation of Creative Access - Artistic Intelligence. This event is a multidisciplinary workshop, exploring the topic of symbolism of inner child play - through an intersectional, creative, communal and wellbeing lens.

The Collective is composed of four stellar BIPoC, multidisciplinary artists and a culturally holistic wellbeing practitioner. The artists all identify as Deaf, Disabled and / or Neurodivergent. We welcome you, our peers, to try one or all of the many activities in our event.

We invite you to learn and share skills to make Creative Access as we unite as an Artistic Intelligence Community. Together we will layer a sensory feast of tactile, visionary weaving of words through drawing, movement, sign language, sound and spoken word. We will also be sharing in a cultural community meal and a herbal tea making workshop for post event care. In this way we honour connection to self, community and cultural agency.

There will be an Audio Describer, Tactile Guide, Auslan Interpreters, hearing loop for T-coil Hearing aids and a neck loop and receiver available to assist us to communicate together. Braille signage for sanitary and exits, accessible toilets and a quiet space are also available. Please note we will unfortunately not be able to provide any captioning or virtual access on the day.
