    Event description

The Collective on Anti-Racism (COAR) is delighted to be taking over this incredible concept and host BIPOC Creatives Hangouts. Originally developed and hosted by the everything.i.am.not project (@everything.i.am_not), this event series invites BIPOC creatives of any discipline and skill to come together for conversations about absolutely anything and everything. This recurring event aims to foster a space for BIPOC creatives to find community with each other in what is a predominantly white space in Canberra.

We also welcome attendees to bring along anything creative that they would like to work on during the event – whether that be some yarn, paints, pencils, or a laptop.

What: A chill hangout space for BIPOC creatives.

Who: This event is open to anyone who identifies as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Colour).

What to bring: Anything that allows for you to express your creativity, whether that be colouring pens, paper, notebook, paints, yarn, or a laptop.

Where: The Food Co-op Shop and Cafe. This venue is located at 3 Kingsley St, Canberra ACT 2601. It is fully wheelchair accessible with ramps leading to both entrances. It is an approximately 10 minute walk from the Alinga Street light rail stop.

Light catering by the Food Co-op, with vegetarian options, will be provided. If you have any other dietary requirements, please contact us on COAR’s social media or email us at coar.cbr@gmail.com.

Our August Roar with COAR event will happen directly after this event from 3-5pm at Blank Creative Co. Attendees are welcome to walk over and join this event. Further information on our August Roar with COAR can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/share/Gi53jCs6Qoukvw97/
