About this event
Branching Out Adventures is hosting a CampOUT for Queer Trans Black, Indigenous, and People of Color at Salt Point State Park near Jenner, CA. Attending this event means a weekend of QTBIPOC community, thoughtful conversation, exploring the coastline, and celebrating queer joy! The weekend will center connection to community and nature. The vibes will be cozy and restorative with activities like camp games, group stretching, a guided hike on local ecology, and celebrating the joy that is being queer outside!
This event prioritizes members our community who identify as Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
Waivers/Registration: All participants must be registered individually and have approved the online waiver through this page.
Meeting Location: Woodside Campground, Salt Point State Park
Pets: We love pets, but unfortunately dogs are not able to join this group trip. The campground is dog friendly, but trails and some group activities are not.
Carpooling: The campsites are allocated a total of 8 vehicles so carpooling is encouraged. There is additional space in an overflow parking lot. Please use this sheet to carpool.
Accessibility: There is little to no cell service all around the campground as well as the surrounding areas. Participants can expect to walk up to 5 miles each day, go over rocky terrain, through river crossings, and uneven surfaces. Water spigots and pit toilets are available in the campground. Please visit the campground's website for full details on what is available within the campground.
What to Bring:
We understand that not all participants may not have everything listed below and that is not a problem whatsoever! Our community has extra supplies, access to gear libraries, and are willing to share with one another. Please contact our team at jaclyn.schneider@branchingoutadv.org by 9/20/2026 to confirm any needed supplies.

Cancellations:
In the event that we must cancel an adventure due to extreme weather conditions or poor air quality, the team will reach out via email no later than 5:00 PM, 3 days prior to this event.
Branching Out Adventures encourages people from all identities and backgrounds to participate in our programs. Many of our programs are outdoors and involve moving in a variety of landscapes. If you have accessibility concerns (e.g. allergies, limited mobility, learning differences), our projects are flexible and we are happy to work with you. - What will the weather be like?
In the mountians, weather can be quite variable. Typically, at this time of year, it is hot (in the 90˚ s with cooler weather along the water and in canyons) during the day, and cooler at night.

- What do we do during the trip?
Our queer campOUT trips aim to blend structured activities to build community with free exploration and connecting with the land. An average day would look like this:
Wake Up and Make Breakfast
9:30am Check In and Ice Breaker
10:00am Community Building Activity
11:00am Make lunch, and get ready for hike
11:30am Group Hike (eat lunch by the creek on hike)
3:00pm Return to camp, relax, free time
Make Dinner
7:30pm Evening Circle
8:00pm Games, stories, music
10:00pm Quiet Hours Begin
