Guided bird walk with Dr Jacinta Humphrey – Discover the birds of Darebin Creek
Event description
Join Urban Ecologist and Research Fellow Dr Jacinta Humphrey for a relaxed and informative guided bird walk around the La Trobe University lakes and the Nangak Tamboree area down to the Darebin Creek.
This FREE early morning walk is a chance to observe and learn about the birds that live along the Darebin Creek and the habitats they rely on. We'll also be noting the species we see as part of ongoing annual bird surveys in the area, helping to track changes in bird populations over time. Data will be added to eBird.
Whether you're new to birdwatching or have been doing it for years, all levels of experience are welcome.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them (limited binoculars will be available to borrow on the day).
Meet: at the corner of Chrissane Rd and Sheehan Rd, Heidelberg West (see map below)
Bookings required.
