Bird Watching at Glenthorne National Park
Event description
Join us as for a bird walk through the beautiful Glenthorne National Park to find and identify the species which call this region home.
This is a joint event hosted by Birds SA, Friends of Glenthorne National Park and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.
Significant revegetation work across the park is contributing to the re-establishment of the greybox grassy woodland habitat, connecting separated regions of remnant grassland to provide crucial habitat for birds and other native animals and plants.
Over 90 diverse species of bird have been recorded at Glenthorne, so we expect a good number of species to be present during the walk for you to identify and enjoy.
During the walk you will be led down through the playground area and along the creek line to the main central dam, then up the hill to Warhorse Drive and back to the Ranger station. Bring your own lunch to enjoy after the walk and the bird list will be discussed.
MEETING LOCATION
Please meet at the carpark outside the Ranger Station (2 Majors Rd, O'Halloran Hill, SA, 5158) at least 5 minutes before the walk.
