BirdFood is a bunch of sophisticated female food professionals and we meet in Sydney to network, eat and drink!

Who can join? Anyone, as long as they have a professional interest in food. This means you can invite other people to our events if you think they'd enjoy the conversation and conviviality

When do you meet? We aim for once every couple of months

Where and when? For our next event, Mishy's cooking for us at Naturally Sauced on Wednesday November 29 2023. Mishy is preparing a seasonal set menu (inc a complimentary refreshing iced tea or cocktail on arrival). Additional beverages will be available to order at the table. Please advise if you have any dietaries when booking.

Is it formal or relaxed? It's chilled. There's no format, it's simply drinks with mates where you are free to network and talk about your career in the food industry

Why a women's event? For me attending women’s events is a personal choice and other people have different preferences. I started BirdFood to create a forum where I could talk, as a woman, about my personal experiences of working in a profession that was (at times) dominated by men. I was keen to seek the opinions and advice of other women in my industry. In the past attendees have observed that they don’t think the conversation would be as open if there were men present. There’s no denying this is an important question and one we should definitely talk about.
