BirdLife WA Campout - Bremer Bay
Description
Mid-week Campout, Bremer Bay (Members only).
Sunday 01 November to Friday 06 November (6 nights / 5 days)
The campout will be based at the Bremer Bay Beaches Resort Tourist Park, 333 Wellstead Road, Bremer Bay which has accommodation facilities ranging from camping and caravan sites to luxury self-contained villas. There are a number of cabins with more than one bedroom that can be shared by those interested in that option. Fuel is available in the town and at Borden, Manypeaks and Jerramungup. Please note that the Boxwood Hill fuel stop is now closed.
We will visit bush, wetland and coastal sites during the campout including Beaufort Inlet, Fitzgerald River National Park and Wellstead Estuary. Depending upon the weather conditions, most places we plan to visit are accessible by conventional vehicles on graded gravel and/or sand tracks. Previous campouts have recorded a high number of species. On the Tuesday there will be a Melbourne Cup luncheon at the outdoor area of the tourist park café. BBQ facilities will be available for those who wish to cook.
If you wish to attend the campout, BOOK EARLY by following the steps below:
Step 1:
Register on Humanitix (bookings open on the 30th March) and, if you get a ticket, that is in the first twenty five on the list, go to step 2.
Step 2:
Contact the Bremer Bay Beaches Resort Tourist Park (telephone 08 9837 4290) to book your accommodation. When booking, let them know you are with BirdLife Western Australia. The operators of the Tourist Park have generously offered us 10% off bookings up to a maximum value of $40.00 which will be applied when the final amount is paid.
You can also contact the caravan park by e-mail on frontoffice@bremerbaybeaches.com.au. This is a popular holiday destination so BOOK EARLY to ensure you don’t miss out.
There will be an entry fee at Fitzgerald River National Park so if you have a national parks pass bring it with you.
Note: As some locations do not have toilet facilities, you will need to be prepared to make alternative arrangements.
A briefing will be held in the outdoor area of the cafe (subject to availability) at 5:30pm on the Sunday evening.
If there is a need to contact anyone on the campout, messages can be left at the caravan park office.
