Birds and Bubs Birdwatching - Lennox Head
Description
Birds and Bubs: Birdwatching Walk – Lennox Head
Babies and little ones are naturally curious about the world around them, and birds are a lovely place to start!
Join us for a relaxed, family-friendly birdwatching walk in Lennox Head. We’ll slow down, notice the birds around us, and discover who’s calling, hopping through the trees or flying overhead.
You’ll pick up a few simple tips for recognising local birds and helping little ones learn their names. No birdwatching experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to explore together.
It’s also a lovely opportunity to get outside with your bub, meet other parents and carers, and enjoy a bit of nature at your own pace.
What to expect:
A gentle, baby- and toddler-friendly birdwatching walk.
Simple tips for spotting and identifying local birds.
Plenty of time to pause, look, listen and explore.
A welcoming, no-pressure outing for parents, carers and little ones.
Who can come?
Parents, carers, babies and toddlers are all welcome. No previous birdwatching experience needed, and there’s no expectation that little ones will sit still or stay quiet!
The walk is pram-friendly, with time for breastfeeding stops, nappy changes and little ones to explore along the way. We’ll take things at a relaxed pace, so you can enjoy the morning without worrying about keeping up.
Bring your bub, your curiosity and, if you have one, a pair of binoculars. We'll enjoy discovering what birds we can find together!
Where to meet?
Meet at Lennox Point at the bottom of Dress Circle Drive. Here is a Google Map Link.
A special Bird Week outing
This is a free walk to celebrate National Bird Week and mark my first Birds and Bubs outing back from maternity leave! I'm looking forward to getting back out birdwatching with local families and sharing the joy of discovering our wonderful local birds together.
As it's National Bird Week, we'll also have the option to take part in the Aussie Bird Count — a fun way to contribute to bird conservation while discovering the birds around us. There's absolutely no pressure to participate; simply come along and enjoy the morning!
A little about your guide
My name is Jade and I have been birdwatching around NSW and beyond for over 10 years. For me bird watching is a great way for to connect with nature everyday. I feel grounded and more connected to my home when I can put names to the birds and other wildlife around me. And when you see a new bird, it's a lot of fun! Bird watching also opened me to all these opportunities to care for them; bush care, native gardening, and supporting wildlife corridors. This gave me purpose and fulfilment. I want to share this sense of wonder, connection and care, with my fellow nature lovers out there.
