Please ensure you have plenty of gas in your vehicle before the class starts and give yourself ample time to arrive to the class meet up location on time. We have a grace period of 10 minutes before we depart.
Entry instructions
At every meetup location, there will be an instructor, volunteer, and Desert Institute staff. Please look for our staff wearing a badge, patch, and or Desert Institute shirt,
After entry instructions
We will caravan as a group following the instructor at the front of the caravan, and a volunteer at the back of the caravan. Instructions for caravaning will be provided during the safety orientation/check in before departing.
Hazards
Uneven terrain, elevation gains, moderate to strenuous trails, wildlife, and weather conditions (hot/cold/windy/rainy).
Toilet location
There may not be restrooms accessible for certain periods of time. If your class drives into Joshua Tree National Park, the volunteers or DI staff will let you know before we depart into the park where the restrooms or vault toilets are.
Accessible parking
There are designated parking areas in and outside of Joshua Tree National Park.

We will be outside, in the elements, and possibly walking over uneven, rough terrain. Please let us know if you need accommodations.
