Birds of Belair National Park: An introduction to birdwatching


Event description

Embark on an enriching bird-watching experience with John Gitsham, an expert birder, Birds SA Committee Member, and former NPWS Park Ranger. Join him for a guided walk through Belair National Park, where John will share his extensive knowledge of the avian species that inhabit this beautiful natural setting.

What to Expect:

  • Bird Identification: Discover the diverse bird species that call Belair National Park home. 
  • Birding Techniques: Gain valuable tips and techniques for enhancing your bird-watching skills, from spotting and identifying to understanding bird behaviors.
  • Scenic Walk: Enjoy a leisurely walk through the park’s picturesque landscapes, with opportunities to appreciate both the natural surroundings and the birds within.

This will be an informative and enjoyable walk with one of the state's leading experts in birding, and deepen your appreciation for the avian world around us.

Accessibility
This activity will involve walking on and off walking trails that maybe uneven. It is not recommended for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility.

The event is suitable for adults and children ages 8 and upwards.

  • Bird identification books (if you have one)
