We are pleased to invite you to join the National Association of Specialist Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (NASOG) and your colleagues at The Australian Birth Forum 2025.

To be held from 4–5 April 2025 at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, this landmark event builds on the momentum of the Private Obstetric Alliance Forum held in September 2024 and the Roadshow meetings in October 2024.

It is no news that private healthcare in Australia is at a critical crossroads with challenges around access and affordability increasing. Maternity care is more challenged than most specialty areas.

While there remains strong patient interest in private maternity services, the sector has been contracting in recent years. This, in turn, is placing additional strain on an already stretched public health system grappling with resourcing and capacity constraints.

The Australian Birth Forum will bring together leaders, innovators and stakeholders in both women’s health and the broader private healthcare sector to re-imagine the delivery of private maternity services.

Through expert presentations, engaging panel discussions and delegate collaboration, the Forum will work towards shaping a new model of care that:

Recognises the contributions of all clinicians involved, from preconception to birth and parenthood.
Establishes fair remuneration structures for providers and facilities to ensure the sustainability of maternity care in the private sector.
Empowers more Australian families with choices for their model of care when planning their pregnancies and births.

With a Federal Election looming in early 2025, the Forum outcomes will provide strong direction to the incoming Government on the work needed to bring fair balance back into the healthcare system for the benefit of all Australian women and their families.

The Forum will include an Exhibition, Welcome Reception and Dinner. Accommodation at the Hyatt Regency can be booked as part of your registration.
