Bach in the Dark - Bach – and Ben!

To start the 2027 concert year, Rachel will be playing a solo concert celebrating music by J.S. Bach and Ben Sibson. And after so many of you asked – it’ll be the first afternoon concert of the year!

So many regular concert-goers have commented when a pice by M.B. Sibson is on the program she decided to play a concert with a number of his pieces – all linked to Bach. Expect some Bach preludes, a beautiful version of the Catalan folk song ‘Song of the Birds’, a piece for loop pedal – and a musical surprise at the end!

Program (may change without notice):

J.S. Bach Prelude from the third suite for solo cello (BWV 1009)

Trad. (arr. M.B. Sibson) Song of the Birds

J.S. Bach Prelude from the sixth suite for solo cello (BWV 1012)

M.B. Sibson Niceae Variations for solo cello

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach Poco Adagio from Sonata for Solo Flute in A minor (Wq.132, H 562)
