Bittern Booming BBQ and Workshop
Event description
The Australasian Bittern — one of Australia’s most secretive wetland birds — is returning to breeding wetlands across the landscape, and that means bittern booming season has officially begun! Despite its deep, foghorn-like call, this Endangered species remains remarkably elusive, and there is still much to learn about its ecology and habitat needs.
To celebrate the season, we’ll be hosting a Bittern Booming BBQ and Workshop on Friday, November 8th (time and location to be confirmed). Join us to learn how to conduct your own bittern listening survey, discover how farm wetlands support threatened wildlife, and connect with other landholders contributing to conservation.
