    Black Dog Rides the Apple 2023 - SOLD OUT - Shirts Still Available for Purchase until End of Ride

    Black Dog Ride's the Apple aims to start a national conversation about depression and suicide prevention. Help us get the country talking and join us on this incredible 6 day adventure around the apple. Let's go Tassie!

    Ride Registration

    We have 2 start points - Northern Riders & Southern Riders and we will all join up at Central Highlands Community Men's Shed. 

    Registration for the full Black Dog Ride's the Apple includes:

    • Entry and participation in the fully organised Ride 
    • Back up of a Support Vehicle en route
    • Tas State Ride 2023 cloth patch, round ride decal, and bumper sticker
    • Tas State Ride Long Sleeve Tee (Optional Purchase - not included in registration and will be posted to you after the event)

      Ride Itinerary 

      The broad itinerary for this ride is as follows.

      Daily route:
      Day 1 - 26th October 2023

      Northern riders muster at 9.00am with stands up at 9.15am in Longford travel to Hamilton to meet southern riders at CENTRAL HIGHLANDS COMMUNITY MEN'S SHED 7 Ponsonby St, Hamilton, TAS 7140. Southern Riders assemble at for a 10am departure.

      Northern Riders Check in: 9:00am - JJ"S Bakery - 52 Wellington St, Longford TAS 7301 



      Southern Riders Check in: 10:00am stands up at the Cambridge Centre - Tasman Hwy c/o Red Square Café, 66 Kennedy Dr, Cambridge TAS 7170

      Afternoon visit to the GREAT LAKE COMMUNITY CENTRE 55-57 Cider Gum Road, Miena, TAS 7030 then book into the Great Lakes Hotel for social night and wrap up of the day’s events.

      Day 2 - 27th October 2023

      Depart for Derwent Bridge for morning break at 9:30 then accommodation will be available at the Heemskirk Motel (Preferred option) or the Cecil Hotel.

      Day 3 - 28th October 2023

      Depart Zeehan at 9am travelling to WARATAH 7321 MENS SHED 21 William Street, Waratah. Two route are available on this leg of the ride. 

      Adventure bike riders can go through Corinna and Savage River the road group through Rosebery. Our final visit will be accommodation at the Stanley Cabin and Tourist Park. Dinner at the Golf Club.

      Day 4 - 29th October 2023

      Breakfast at CIRCULAR HEAD MEN'S SHED INC 151 Nelson Street, Smithton, TAS before a back road ride inland then back to the BURNIE MEN'S SHED 14 Smith Street, Wivenhoe, TAS 7320. The ride departs Burnie and heads inland through Gunns Plains looping around the southern end of Lake Barrington to our overnight destination at Sheffield.


      Day 5 - 30th October 2023

      Breakfast at the KENTISH COMMUNITY MEN'S SHED 14 Spring St, Sheffield, TAS 7306 depart for Scamander stopping at the DORSET COMMUNITY MEN'S SHED - 2 Christopher Street, Scottsdale, for lunch. Afternoon tea stop at the Pyengana Pub in the Paddock.

      Day 6 - 31st October 2023

      Breakfast at Scamander, morning tea at BICHENO MEN'S SHED 19 Sinclair Street, Bicheno. Ride to Lake Leake Hotel for lunch stop and farewells. At Campbell Town southerner and northerners head home.

      Ride Preparation

      It is imperative that riders ensure their bike is registered, roadworthy, and in proper working order, ready for the significant distance ride ahead. It is also imperative that riders and pillion passengers are fit and well enough for the journey. Black Dog Ride does not take responsibility for these matters.

      The safety and wellbeing of all Black Dog Ride participants is our priority: While participating in Black Dog ride events, at any time where you are, or are likely to be, in control of a vehicle, the consumption of alcohol and illegal drugs is prohibited. At all times, the use of illegal substances is prohibited. At the conclusion of the event or days documented riding, and/or if an event includes multiple days, including evening social events and meals, we expect your decision to consume alcohol to be in moderation and within legal limitations. Non-compliance of this requirement will result in your immediate disqualification from further participation in the event, and no refunds will be given
