Description
The Black Swan Sessions is a project that gradually took form over the last 9 months. Through a process of experiment & refining the music developed into a cohesive body of work with improvised elements honouring the raw excitement & energy of jazz.
Evolving around Lauren's incredible vocal range, control & timbre the musicians build eclectic and empathetic soundscapes for her voice to roam.
The band's collective sound is soulful & heartfelt. A mystical invocation woven from strands of gospel, jazz & blues. The set contains original songs as well as numbers by legendary artists such as Nina Simone, Cassandra Wilson & the Cowboy Junkies.
The Black Swan Sessions is an invitation to a one off emotional & atmospheric musical experience.
