Black Swan Sessions

The Black Swan Sessions is a project that has gradually taken form over the last 9 months. Through a process of experimentation and refinement, their music has developed into a cohesive body of work with improvised elements honouring the raw excitement and energy of jazz.

Evolving around the incredible vocal range, control and timbre of Lauren Wilms’s, her fellow musicians — Mikey Barnard and Matthew Perry — build an eclectic and empathetic soundscape for her voice to roam. They'll be joined by special guest musicians who will contribute their virtuosity to the tapestry.

The band's collective sound is soulful & heartfelt. A mystical invocation woven from strands of gospel, jazz & blues. The set contains original songs crafted by the band as well as numbers by legendary artists such as Nina Simone, Cassandra Wilson & the Cowboy Junkies.

The Black Swan Sessions are an invitation to a one-off, emotional and atmospheric musical experience not to be missed.  We look forward to you joining us at the Windsong Pavillion at Four Winds, in beautiful Barraga Bay, this December.
