Blackball Grom Surf Camps ( Girls - Level 2)
Join us for an exciting 3-day surf camp in Byron Bay with professional surfer Luke Stedman and other special guests.
Our October school holiday camp will see your young athlete gain the technical skills and knowledge required for the next step in their surfing journey.
Who's It For?
This Girls Level 2 is a girls-only camp and is suitable for surfers between the ages of 8-16 yrs old who catch waves consistently, but still looking to improve their fundamentals. This camp will focus on:
- Improving reading what waves to paddle for
- Catch better-quality waves
- Mastering weight shifting, slowing down and speed generation
- Angling take off and learning what turns to do when
For maximum impact and personalised coaching, we will be splitting the groups into two age groups:
- 8-11 yrs
- 12-16 yrs
The Camp and What to Expect
By the end of the program, your child will have improved their surfing skills, learned life skills such as sportsmanship and teamwork, made new friends, and gained confidence in a fun, positive environment.
- Surfing Development
Technical sessions run by our professional coaches and WSL stars. Stay tuned for exciting announcements!
- Surf Video Analysis
This part will include video footage review. Footage for your kids to keep and take home.
- Strength & Conditioning
Expert training and surf-specific movement classes
- Surf Skating
On-land training, practicing manoeuvres that will help improve surfing skills.
- Ocean awareness and nature connection
Knowledge of ocean safety and environmental responsibility. Including basic first aid and surf rescue techniques.
- Surf competitions, challenges and games
Friendly comps to test skills and have fun with fellow surfers.
What to Bring
- Surfing gear
- Notebook and pen
- Lunch and snacks (Note: Lunch will not be provided)
- Water bottle
- Any necessary taping or personal care item.
