BLD PWR is activating BLD PWR Day + Juneteenth Weekend 2026 in Houston from June 18 - 20 for three powerful days of culture, community and celebration.
This Juneteenth weekend, we’re bringing you to The SLAB, our Houston-rooted cultural hub for the weekend.
The SLAB is named after Houston’s iconic slab culture: customized cars that became a movement of unapologetic Black presence, ownership, and protection.
For us, SLAB means:
Slow. Loud. And Building.
Slow down enough to be in community.
Loud enough that nobody misses what we’re saying about Black power and liberation.
And Building, because that is the actual work needed to achieve and sustain power.

✨ Community-building with partners including SisterSong, BAJI, and Center for Cultural Power
✨ A Center for Cultural Power-commissioned mural activation built together across all three days
All Weekend at The SLAB
The SLAB will be alive all weekend with outdoor activations, vendors, food trucks, music, conversations, community, and creative expression.
