Bleed Lightly: Sustainable Menstrual Health
Event description
A Do No Harm Side Event.
Sick of your period costing the earth?
The average person who menstruates will use and throw away in excess of 10,000 single-use period products throughout their lifetime, generating significant emissions and producing tremendous amounts of plastic waste.
The solutions already exist, but thanks to menstrual stigma, shame, and poor sexual education, the majority of people aren't using them. It's time to change that.
In a small group, we’ll be exploring:
The environmental impact of menstrual waste
The ins-and-outs of sustainable periods products, including hands-on demonstration and practice with anatomical models
Perceptions and stigma surrounding reusable period products
The answers to all your burning sustainable period questions!
This workshop will equip you with the knowledge and skills to make your period more sustainable, and empower you to start the conversation with others.
Refreshments and snacks will be provided, as well as free menstrual cups, discs and period underwear for your next period (and the one after that, and the one after that, and the one after that...)
