Online Lunch & Learn

Blended Learning: Small Changes, Big Impact

Redesigning your course to seamlessly blend online and in person learning is a big task. To help you on this journey, we will explore practical examples of high impact activities and elements that you can add to a course quickly and easily. This offers a low-risk way to iterate on your current course design to enhance student learning.

Come along for a lunch and learn session and explore a diversity of approaches (low-tech and high-tech) that target educational goals like supporting self-paced independent learning, checking student knowledge, improving engagement, and creating opportunities for social and collaborative learning.

Please note this program requires active participation! Please ensure you are in a space where you can speak freely and ideally can have your camera on during activities.

We will get down in the weeds with questions like:

  • How can I design discussion forums that students engage with in a meaningful way?
  • How might I use collaborative digital whiteboards and why?
  • What tools are available in Canvas to support self-paced learning and reflection?
  • How can I promote social and collaborative learning – and how do I choose to facilitate this online, in person, synchronously or asynchronously?

This event is online via Zoom. If you would like to attend this workshop face-to-face instead, please register for the October 29 session here (Choose option 1).
