Blood and Metal VII: CAPO/Novice Powerlifting

Welcome to Blood and Metal VI, Below Parallel’s final 3-lift novice and CAPO comp of 2026.
Anyone is welcome to enter the novice division and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female lifters decided by bodyweight formula. No softsuit required and entry for spectators is free. Previous winners can compete, but cannot win. Positions are subject to meet director's discretion.

In the CAPO division, competitors must be registered CAPO members, and all usual CAPO requirements will apply.

• Weigh in and rack/pin heights for the novice comp will be on the morning of the competition, between 7:30 and 8:30, or the Saturday morning (the day before) between 8am and 12pm.

• Weigh in for the CAPO comp will be between 9-10am on Saturday 21st November.

• Flights will be separated between novice and sanctioned

Warm up begins at 8:15am, lifting begins for flight A at 9:00am

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts" - Every lifter that has ever bombed squats. 

- Novice rules:
- Rules and calls are as per traditional raw powerlifting, sleeves only for novice lifters (wraps may be worn but the lifter will be unable to compete for prizes).

-Shoes must be worn, deadlift socks must be worn and a t-shirt must be worn for squats and bench press. There are no restrictions on belts or wrist wraps.
