Welcoming Australia is thrilled to present ‘Bloodlines to Country: in conversation’ as part of Welcoming Week 2024! 

Welcoming Australia’s, Cate Gilpin, will be in conversation with respected Yuggera Elder, Aunty Kerry Charlton, alongside the producers and hosts of the award-winning Bloodlines to Country podcast, Karina Hogan, and Jenae Tien. 

The first season of the podcast shares Aunty Kerry’s story, exploring her vital work repatriating the Yuggera language, and her deep connection to her homeland through her family's multi-generational history. In this in-conversation event Aunty Kerry, Karina and Jenae will share the story of how this podcast was created, and how it has ensured the continuation of cultural knowledges and legacies through the use of innovative media. 

Event Details:

5:30pm to 6:30pm - drink on arrival, and canapés by Fig Jam

6:30pm to 7:30pm - in conversation discussion with Aunty Kerry Charlton, Karina Hogan and Jenae Tien.
