Bloomsday 2023 Lunch and Seminar

The Bloomsday in Melbourne Annual Bloomsday Lunch has become a tradition, a great way for Joyceans and those who are Joyce-curious to spend an afternoon before our play, Exiles.
Following lunch (12.30pm-2.30pm) we have our annual Bloomsday Seminar (3pm-4.30pm). In 2023 we have two papers. The first, by Steve Carey, is 'The Exile James Joyce And The Mystery Of Exiles,' which sketches the biographical background to Joyce's writing of the play, and speculates on Joyce's psychological impulses. The second, Philip Harvey, is ‘A Hundred Bloomsdays Flower: How Writers Have Remade Joyce’s Feast Day,' an entertaining and witty look at how authors have played with Bloomsday.
After our lunch and seminar, roll down the hill with us for the 5pm performance of Exiles.
