    Event description

This is a Women Only (non-binary & trans-fem identifying are also welcome) event, auspiced by the Blue Mountains Women's Health & Resource Centre and organised by a Blue Mountains resident. This event is being organised with the view to help break down some of the barriers women may struggle with in accessing mental help. Due to the intention of this event, and room capacity, it is only open to Blue Mountains residents and ticket holders. No tickets will be available on the day.

Blue Mountains women will be briefly introduced to local Mental Health Practitioners - both in the public and private sectors. A panel comprising of 5 therapists from varied backgrounds will discuss what to expect at a therapy session, what are therapy red flags and answer questions - attendees will be invited to write down any questions upon entry and place them in a box to be drawn out randomly.

Following the panel session, you are invited to bring a picnic lunch as we break for 1/2 hr. After lunch attendees will take part in workshops - Nervous System Regulation, Art Therapy and ending with a bit of play, with Emily from Hands Heart and Feet & Caitlyn Palmer from RhythmKind.

Please note that this is a trauma sensitive event and if you do not feel to take part in any of the workshops, you are welcome to stay and watch, or, you may leave early. We also ask that people do not discuss any personal trauma or therapy stories or anything that may cause harm to any other attendees. This is a mental health event and we ask that you be conscious and respectful that other people may be sensitive to particular topics.

Please also note that tickets are strictly limited by hall capacity, if you are unable to make it please let us know so we can make your ticket available to someone else.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land this event will be held on, the Gundungurra and Dharug peoples and pay our respects to elders both past, present and emerging.

We thank Susan Templeman, Bendigo Bank & Trish Doyle, for supporting this event, additional supporters/sponsors will be included as they come on board.
