Bluetts Block Walk & Nature Journal Circle
Event description
Landcare ACT's Women in Nature program invites you to connect with and care for nature through WELLSPRING - a series of nature connection activities taking place weekly throughout the spring season (Sept/Oct/Nov) including guided walks, talks, nature-based art sessions, and hands-on conservation activities. This series will run alongside the Canberra Festival of Nature, this year's theme being Glorious Grasslands.Â
Landcare ACT's Women in Nature program celebrates women actively caring for nature across the Canberra region, whilst inspiring others to engage in citizen science and environmental stewardship. The primary aim of the Women in Nature program is to foster a deeper sense of nature connection - through mindfulness, engaging the senses, listening with the whole body, slowing down to notice little details and enjoy moments of beauty, awe and wonder.Â
Landcare ACT is partnering with Communities at Work to co-facilitate a guided nature connection walk in Bluetts Block facilitated by Sally Holliday, followed by a Nature Journaling Circle at Communities at Work (Denman Community Centre) facilitated by Karen Jesson.Â
Sally first joined Landcare ACT in 2021 to deliver the Wellbeing through Nature program, and now facilitates Women in Nature (Win). She is a steadfast believer in the transformational and healing potential of nature and has a passion for sharing nature connection with others.Â
Karen is a passionate and skilled Community Development practitioner, with a love for nature and Nature Journaling. She has recently completed an Advanced Accreditation in Nature Based Therapy and has recently undertaken the development of two Nature Journal Circles here in the ACT. The Circles are designed to bring community together to connect, learn and grow through nature connection and curiosity for the natural world.
