Bathurst Merino Association pasture tour

This event is a great opportunity for sheep producers to visit a variety of local pastures at peak production.

Event details:

Join Bathurst Merino Association and Central Tablelands Local Land Services for a practical paddock-to-paddock tour showcasing perennial pasture systems supporting productive sheep enterprises on fragile granite soils across the Central Tablelands.

This event is for sheep producers who want to:

• improve pasture persistence and productivity

• balance livestock production with ground cover and soil health

• learn from the experiences of local farmers

• see a range of pasture and forage systems at peak production.

On the day you'll visit:

• Matt Burns, "The Oaks" – Traditional perennial grass pasture

• Graham Ross – Mixed-species low-input crop

• Rob McLeod – Mixed-species winter crop and Premier Digit tropical pasture

• Kelly Family – Large-scale newly established temperate perennial pasture

What's included:

• Morning tea on the bus

• Lunch at Rockley Pub

• Discussion and networking opportunities with fellow producers

Hear first-hand how local producers have established and maintained perennial pastures to improve productivity while protecting ground cover and building resilience in their grazing systems.

Biosecurity Requirements: This is a Come Clean, Go Clean event. Please ensure vehicles and footwear are clean before arrival, in accordance with host farm biosecurity requirements.
