    Event description

    How Cow Bingo Works

    Each individual ticket purchased relates to a square in our paddock, allocation of which will be randomly drawn.  Two Calves will be led into the middle of the paddock at 1pm on Sunday 29th September and released.  The square that one of the calves first defecates in will be deemed to be the main prize winner.  The Ten spot prizes will be drawn by random number selection during the event time period. 

    This lottery is being run by Beachlands Maraetai Rugby Club Incorporated (the Club). By purchasing a ticket you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions below which apply to this lottery.  The Lottery is conducted by licence issued under section 37 of the Gambling Act 2003. Licence Number LT090000619.

    Terms and Conditions

    Tickets

    • There are 4,996 tickets offered for purchase in this lottery, which are numbered from 1 to 4,996 inclusive.
    • Tickets are NZ $10 per ticket plus site booking fee (the club is not registered for GST, therefore there is no GST included in the ticket price)
    • There is no limit on the number of tickets that can be purchased by any one person.
    • Tickets will be available for purchase from 9am Friday 9th August 2024 until 3pm Thursday 26th September 2024 (unless sold out prior).
    • Tickets will be issued by email.
    • Refunds: tickets are non-refundable

    Eligibility

    • To be eligible to purchase a ticket in this lottery you must be 18 years or over and you must be in New Zealand at the time of the purchase of the ticket.
    • You must hold a current New Zealand Bank Account in your name (it may be a joint account) for any winning funds to be deposited into.
    • Evidence of the winner’s identity and eligibility must be provided to the Club, or its legal advisors, within 14 days of the date of the prize draw so that the bank transfer can be completed. If not provided, the prize will be forfeited, and a new winner drawn by random selection.

    Prizes

    • Main Prize is NZ $5,000 payable via bank transfer to a New Zealand Bank Account.
    • Ten spot prizes of NZ $500 each payable via bank transfer to a New Zealand Bank Account.

     Prize Draw

    • The prize draw will take place on Sunday 29 September 2024 starting at 1pm at Te Puru Park, Whitford-Maraetai Road, Beachlands, Auckland 2571.
    • The prize draw will be by blind selection of the numbers associated with the tickets sold, under supervision of an independent witness in accordance with Rule 6 (14) of the Gambling Act (Lottery) Game Rules 2004.
      •  Allocation of tickets to squares of the paddock will be done on Thursday 26 September 2024 via the Excel function RANDARRAY. There will be unallocated squares on our paddock to allow for water troughs, food or anything else the farmer deems necessary for the welfare of the calves.  The squares on the paddock will be set out by a Surveyor and will each be 1 square metre.  In the event that not all tickets are sold the size of each square will be increased by the surveyor to be evenly distributed across the paddock.
      • Spot Prize Draws –winning square numbers will be determined by a random number generator.  Spot prize winners are still eligible for the main prize draw. 
      • Main Prize Draw - Two Calves will be led into the middle of the paddock at 1pm Sunday 29th September and released.  The square that one of the calves first poops in (after it has been released in the middle of the paddock) will be deemed to be the main prize winner.  If the poop is across multiple squares then the square containing the most volume of poop will be the winner. 
    • In the event of extreme weather or circumstances outside the clubs control that prevents the safe continuation of the cow event, a blind selection draw will take place in the Te Puru Clubrooms at 1pm on Sunday 29th September for the main prize and all spot prizes.
    • The results of the prize draw will be published on the Club’s Facebook Page by Monday 30th September 2024.
    • The prize winners will be contacted by telephone and notified in writing via email.
    • Disputes: The decision of the organiser is final and binding. The records held by the organiser are deemed correct and final.

    Collection of Prize

    • The winner must provide a New Zealand bank account for the prize money to be deposited into.
    • After reasonable effort by the club to contact the winner, if the prize remains unclaimed after 3 months of the draw date then the club will notify the Secretary for Internal Affairs and await their direction.

    Use of Funds Raised

    • Funds raised from this lottery will be used towards the continuation of The Club including all Junior and Senior Teams for the Beachlands and Maraetai region, that continues to offer low fees to ensure accessibility to all members of the community.

    Cancellation of Lottery

    • The Club reserves the right to cancel the lottery at any time prior to the prize draw.
    • In the event of a cancellation of this lottery, the cancellation will be published on the club’s Facebook page.  The club will refund all ticket costs to the ticket holders in the event of cancellation.
