A little about our speaker...
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY – What we do and our Key Messages
Come and hear Senior Project Officer, Kylea Aldred, share in conversation about SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY’s mission, programs and initiatives. Kylea will also share insights into Stay ChatTY’s key messages and how we can all play a role in supporting ourselves and those around us when it comes to mental wellbeing.
SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY was founded in 2013 by Mitch McPherson after losing his younger brother Ty to suicide.
Whilst working as a glazier, Mitch created a sticker with a simple yet significant message behind it – nothing is so bad you can’t talk about it. A call to action to check in on those around – to SPEAK UP! and Stay ChatTY.
Over the past 11 years Mitch has been joined in his mission to normalise mental health conversations and stop stigma in relation to mental health and suicide prevention by a team of dedicated and passionate individuals– who when operating as a collective have created some incredible impact.
The mission – showing up, sharing stories and stopping stigma.
Over the last 11 years over 65,000 Tasmanians have been involved in a Stay ChatTY program.
With now over 100,000 stickers in circulation (across Tasmania and the country) and 7 dedicated team members delivering presentations state-wide, Stay ChatTY has become a trusted and respected part of the mental health landscape.
A little about us...
Business Networking Advantage Australia (BNAA) is Tasmania's own formalised Business Networking System.
BNAA utilises the greatest marketing tool of them all: word of mouth. We enhance the effectiveness of that word of mouth with a proven system of member engagement plus an online record keeping application that gives our members the freedom to focus on building their business.
By becoming a member of BNAA, your fellow members become part of your sales team and you become part of theirs, spreading the word and building business by giving and receiving referrals.
We are excited to be partnering with SPEAK UP! Stay ChatTY to share interesting and key information on mental health in the workplace to the Southern Tasmanian business community.
