Description

About this event

Bringing on a new board member?  New to a board yourself?  Taking the time to establish a good board induction process is an important investment in any organisation’s future. It supports new board members to understand their role, start contributing as soon as possible and helps the whole board work together more effectively.

In this popular webinar, we look at the journey of a new board member, what they need to know from pre-appointment to their first meeting, and give you tips on how to improve your own induction process. You’ll walk away with a checklist of what to cover in an induction to set your board up for success.

Here is what participants thought:

  • “Explained in easy-to-understand language and good examples to back up.”

  • "I just wish I had this info when I first joined the board."

We'll cover:

  • Why is board induction important, and who is responsible for it?

  • What should happen before the appointment of a new board member?

  • What should be covered in a board induction?

  • Checklists for what to think about at each step

You'll receive:

  • 75 minutes of plain-language training from a lawyer

  • Copy of webinar recording (accessible for 3 months) and slide handout

  • Information on further resources and support

Who should attend:

New board members, experienced board members who are looking for a refresher, and senior staff.  Anyone wanting to improve their organisation’s induction process.

Can't make it live on the day? That's ok! Everyone who registers receives the post-webinar email containing the recording, slide handout and other information and resources, so you can catch up whenever it suits you.

Registrations close at 12:00pm AEST on the day of the webinar.
