Thinking about joining the HCCWA Board? Free online information session

Nominations are open to join the Health Consumers’ Council WA Board, formally known as our Management Committee.

Would you like to use your skills and experience to help guide WA’s independent peak body for health consumers?

Join this free online information session to learn what Board membership involves, what the commitment looks like and how to nominate. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions.

You do not need to have decided whether to nominate before attending. Attending the session does not commit you to nominating.

This session is for people who:

• Are interested in contributing their skills and experience at a governance level

• Want to help guide HCCWA’s work for fairer healthcare in Western Australia

• Are considering nominating for the HCCWA Board

• Want to understand the role before deciding whether to nominate

• Are interested in gaining Board or not-for-profit governance experience

We encourage people with different professional, community and lived experiences to attend.

During this session, you will learn about:

• HCCWA and the work of its Board

• The responsibilities of Board members

• The expected time commitment

• Board meetings and other activities

• Eligibility and membership requirements

• The nomination and election process

• The skills, experience and perspectives HCCWA is seeking

You will also have time to ask questions.

Health Consumers’ Council WA is the independent peak body for health consumers in Western Australia.

We champion the rights and interests of health consumers and work with communities, health services and decision-makers to help make healthcare fair, accessible, safe and shaped around the people who use it.

The HCCWA Board, formally known as the Management Committee, is responsible for the organisation’s governance and strategic direction.

We’ll cover the Board’s role and responsibilities, and how members help guide HCCWA’s work for fairer healthcare in WA.

• Date: Monday 5 October 2026

• Time: 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM AWST

• Location: Online via Zoom

• Cost: free to attend

Each person must register individually to receive the Zoom link. Please register for one ticket in your own name.

The Zoom link will be emailed to registered attendees 24 hours before the session.
