Fri, 15 Aug, 2pm - 4pm AEST

Event description

Join UQ Wellbeing and Sporting Wheelies at the University of Queensland for a fun and inclusive Wheelchair Basketball and Boccia! Everyone is welcome, and all equipment is provided—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to have a go!

As part of Student Health Month, you can get a opportunity to jump in a chair and try the game for yourself, but also hear from people with lived experience of disability, sharing their stories and insights. It’s a great way to break down barriers, learn something new, and experience the thrill of inclusive sport.

You can also have a go at Boccia, an engaging activity that’s easy to learn but challenging to master. No experience is needed and all equipment is supplied. As part of the session, you'll also have the chance to listen to lived experiences from people with disability, offering personal insight into inclusive sport and community connection. Whether you're competitive or curious, come along and see why Boccia is a game for everyone.

Date: Friday 15th August

Time: 2 to 4pm

Venue: Connell Gym, School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences (26-233), St Lucia Campus (View on UQ Maps here.)
