Body Fiction is a contemporary performance by gender diverse artists, Skye Gellmann and Yolanda Frost.

An exploration of transient bodies - what is seen and what is not?

Surrealist imagery is energised through live experimental percussion, movement and objects. By combining artforms, the artists draw on their shared practice as queer life models, and uncover new narratives between success and failure. An exploratory space is formed where different elements come in and out, shifting between meditative, humorous and abstract.

About the Showing

This is the first showing of Body Fiction prior to its debut season at Melbourne Fringe Festival October 11-15.
We hope to raise funds from this Sydney preview to assist with our Melbourne season and cut its teeth in the good company of friends.

About the Artists

Skye Gellmann is an artist and creator of original circus work that pushes the boundaries of what circus can be through their experimental practice. Since 2007, Skye has created award winning works (including 2 Greenroom Awards) such as Scattered Tacks, Mothlight and Blindscape (among many others), and highlighted circus as a complex form, re-defining its function within society, spaces and art.

Yolanda Frost is a Sydney based multi-instrumentalist, life model and performance artist. When she breaks from the restraint of classical life modelling, Yolanda is a high energy performer in clubs and festivals, spanning drag, aerial shows and gogo dancing with a tranimalistic, exhibitionist streak.
