I felt like I could show up how I was and really get back in my body
Body Maps, Life Stories
Description
Taking place during the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival, this creative wellbeing workshop invites you to use creative exercises to reflect on your strengths and experiences.
The workshop begins with a light directed physical group warm up - taking some time to notice any muscle tension and work to feel grounded in our bodies and ready for some creative exploration. We’ll then move on to creative activities, including individual body mapping using art materials to reflect on your own strengths and life experiences. We’ll finish with a group check out, preparing to step back out of the studio and get on with your day having re-affirmed the strengths you carry with you.
No experience in dance necessary - come as you are! I aim to provide an inclusive space, please get in touch to let me know if I can confirm any adjustments that might support you to attend.
This is not a therapy session, and participants will not be asked to disclose private material.
Practical Information: Because we will be moving around the space, and sitting on the floor, you may wish to wear loose comfortable clothes you can move in. You will be invited to take your shoes off and work in socks.
