Body Passages: The Dichotomy of We, The People
Event description
Join the Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble as we welcome back our Body Passages Artist Residency program! Over the past three months, we have offered 15 Chicago Area Artists rehearsal and visual art studio time to create, develop, and experiment. These artists practice various art forms, including Visual Art, Dance, Theatre, Music, Performance Art, and Writing. Come for the art exhibition, stay for the performance and stay after to talk with the artists.
The Dichotomy of We, The People is the culminating performance and gallery exhibition thematically based on the artist's work.
Our artists have been thinking, creating, and pondering about
relationships and the boundaries of bodies that exist in public vs private spaces,
love and acceptance,
perceiving and connecting with the community,
exploring relational power dynamics,
the pursuit of the unknown,
the root of evil,
leading to mental exhaustion.
Our fathers.
Strength, resilience, and celebrating women.
Memory. We will miss and grieve people longer than we ever knew them.
Featuring the Visual Art of Crawwlspace, Kate Forer, Emma Haugh-Ewald, Seanice Lenay, Thomas Mosley, Pat Battle, and the Performances of Anniela Huidobro Castro, Erez Dessel, Robin Davis, Nik Graves, Maya Paletta, Ramona Rotten, Davon Suttles and Whisper Theatre Collective (Richie Schiraldi and Britt Anderson).
