BONDI- The Great(er) Australian Bight Film Screening

Come along to the Beach Road Hotel on the 22nd of September for an epic night of surf & environmental films. Evening includes three awesome films and a panel discussion with Josh Kirkman - CEO Surfers for Climate, Lottie Dalziel - Founder of Banish and Bondi Local & Rob Harcourt - Emeritus Professor of Marine Ecology and local Bondi Legend.

The Great(er) Australian Bight Marine Park is a film about an active campaign is underway to increase marine protections across the Great Australian Bight and keep Big Oil out forever. Produced in partnership with Jam Hassan, narrated by Simon Baker, and featuring a cast of surfers including Craig Anderson, Belinda Baggs, Noa Deane, Dave Winchester and more, this film makes one thing clear: the Bight needs and deserves protection from Big Oil now. Evolving from a life dedicated to riding waves to one focused on safeguarding our oceans, the film is a powerful reminder of what’s at stake and why protecting this extraordinary marine environment matters.

Thoughtful Larrikins is five years of Surfers for Climate, told the way we’d actually tell it. A light-hearted and slightly unhinged look at the campaigns, good calls, weird ideas and plenty of laughs that have shaped SFC since Bindy and Johnny started this thing. Made by SFC co-founder Johnny Abegg, it’s a celebration of five years of surfers getting thoughtful, getting stuck in and having a bloody good time while fighting for our climate and oceans.

Wild Waves Forever is a short film by Surfers for Climate about a perfect wave almost no one has seen, let alone surfed. Rising out of deep water onto an ancient reef, this wave has Indo-style barrels for days and a whole lot worth protecting. Help us make sure it keeps barreling for generations to come.
