DJ Shaw00p
Shawn Tran aka shaw00p is an LA based, Bay Area raised DJ, producer, designer, and event curator known for genre-fluid sets that move between soul-infused club and left-field electronic music--always bass forward and made for dancing. He has performed all over LA’s indie music scene as a drummer/DJ and has held two different club residencies over the last 2 years. Most recently, he debuted his first festival set at Coachella 2026 on the Desert Sky stage. His production work spans over R&B, pop, and hip-hop records as well as high energy electronic club edits. He has been featured on Soulection Radio, Fault Radio, and plethora of other Soundcloud community radio shows. Beyond the decks, shaw00p is recognized for building community in unconventional spaces, electrifying the underground music and art scene in both Los Angeles and the Bay Area since 2021. His work often blurs the line between party and installation, positioning him as both selector and experience-builder with a loyal following. His new DJ collective with harpist-DJ Sara Kawai called Don’t Go Yet encourages presence, spotlights emerging artists, and demonstrates their taste and mastery over different genres of music via experiential events and recording sessions. Since their creation in the summer of 2025, they quickly landed a monthly residency at Hyperion Social (fka The Friend) in Silverlake in addition to playing at other LA staples such as Blind Barber, Lock and Key, Melody Lounge, and more. Across both his music and the spaces he creates, shaw00p explores the spectrum of human emotion and grooves, shaping environments that feel cohesive and are built to last.
