Description
THE CHIEFTAIN presents...
Bonnie de la Hunty with Jonathan Brain: An Evening of Elegance
Saturday 28 November 6.30pm-9pm - Doors open from 6pm (FORMAL ATTIRE)
The Chieftain Music Club is hosting an exquisite evening celebrating a stunning selection of music for two voices and guitar. This richly atmospheric program delights us with lyrics in English, French, Italian and German in Renaissance lute songs, Baroque opera, 19th century classical salon songs, traditional folk songs, contemporary classics, and Jonathan’s splendid originals.
Bonnie de la Hunty, an exquisite soprano and arranger specialising in Baroque and Classical music, art songs, and traditional folk songs, is Artistic Director of Early Music ensemble, HIP Company. Bonnie studied at WAAPA, Perth, before a Masters in Classical Singing at Royal Academy of Music, London; and Early Music at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, Netherlands. She has also been a soloist with orchestras, choirs and opera companies across Australia.
A musician and stage performer of broad interests, the remarkable Jonathan Brain sings opera and sacred music, writes songs, composes music, plays rock’n’roll, conducts choirs and teaches music. He has played in WAMi-award winning bands and toured the state in singer-songwriter mode. He writes music for theatre, plays guitar on-stage in operas including The Barber of Seville and Ned Kelly, sung opera on cattle-stations and acted in one or two no-budget feature films.
Join us in formal attire @ The Chieftain Music Club to immerse yourself in the atmosphere, listening to these two extremely gifted artistes explore some of history’s greatest music.
