2 Hour Bonsai Workshop - Block 'n Tackle Brewery, Kincumber
Bonsai and Brews is a fun, easygoing workshop to share with friends or family, where you leave with a great story (and your own bonsai tree).
This beginner-friendly 2 hour workshop gets you hands-on from the start. Bonsai expert Mason guides you through potting, shaping, and wiring a bonsai, drawing on 30 years of experience and plenty of humour to keep things relaxed.
No experience needed, if you can hold a pair of scissors, you’ll be just fine.
Grab your drink of choice, settle in, and enjoy two hours of practical learning. You’ll head home with your own bonsai, how to care for it, and the confidence to keep it growing long after the event.
You’ll go home with:
A bonsai tree you choose yourself
A ceramic bonsai pot
Two hours of hands-on bonsai learning and wisdom
Ongoing support through the nursery and online resources
We’ll provide everything you need to work with:
A drink on us!
Bonsai soil and materials
Shears for trimming
Bamboo for digging
Wiring and shaping tools

FAQs
- Can two people share one tree/ticket?
No. Our events are ticketed per person, not per tree, so everyone attending must have a ticket. This is because space is limited to 30 and we need to be able to sell tickets for every seat we have available. Thank you for understanding.
- How do I attend this event?
Parking:
On-site parking spaces are available directly outside the industrial estate unit.
Public Transport:
Local bus services operate to Kincumber, dropping passengers within walking distance of Cochrone Street via Avoca Drive.
- Can I eat at the venue?
Yes!!
You receive a drink on us with your workshop ticket. We encourage you to enjoy something delicious from the menu for lunch and/or dinner following the workshop.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled event to get checked in.
