Highly Recommended
I highly recommend a Bonsai and Brews afternoon. Mason gives lots of practical tips about how to care for your new bonsai at home even if you have the simplest equipment and minimal gardening skills.

Bonsai and Brews is a fun, easygoing workshop to share with friends or family, where you leave with a great story (and your own bonsai tree).
This beginner-friendly 2 hour workshop gets you hands-on from the start. Bonsai expert Mason guides you through potting, shaping, and wiring a bonsai, drawing on 30 years of experience and plenty of humour to keep things relaxed.
No experience needed, if you can hold a pair of scissors, you’ll be just fine.
Grab your drink of choice, settle in, and enjoy two hours of practical learning. You’ll head home with your own bonsai, how to care for it, and the confidence to keep it growing long after the event.
You’ll go home with:
A bonsai tree you choose yourself
A ceramic bonsai pot
Two hours of hands-on bonsai learning and wisdom
Ongoing support through the nursery and online resources
We’ll provide everything you need to work with:
A drink on us!
Bonsai soil and materials
Shears for trimming
Bamboo for digging
Wiring and shaping tools
A few things to know:
Limited spots available (30 people)
Held over two hours at Sanctus Brewing Co.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn bonsai basics in a great setting with your own plant to take home, this workshop is for you.
No. Our events are ticketed per person, not per tree, so everyone attending must have a ticket. This is because space is limited to 30 and we need to be able to sell tickets for every seat we have available. Thank you for understanding.
Sanctus Brewing Co is located at 5 Re Road, Townsend, NSW 2463, just minutes off the Pacific Highway near the Maclean interchange. On-site parking is available, and public transport is very limited, meaning most visitors arrive by car, taxi, or private transfer.
Parking Details
On-Site Carpark: The venue provides an on-site carpark for visitors.
Safety Note: Because the outdoor grassy and dining areas are family-friendly, drivers are urged to move slowly and take extra care in the carpark due to children and pets nearby.
Overflow/Street Parking: Additional general street parking options are accessible directly around Re Road in the industrial/commercial precinct.
Transport Options
By Car: Easily accessed from the Pacific Highway. Take the Maclean exit/interchange onto Townsend-side roads; it is roughly a 20-minute drive from Yamba and right near Maclean.
Public Transport: There is no dedicated local bus route stopping directly at Re Road. Local regional buses service nearby Maclean, but you will need a local taxi or rideshare service for the final short leg to the brewery door.
Alternative Travel: Visitors regularly arrive by car, bicycle, or designated driver setups. Be sure to plan a safe ride home if you intend to sample the taphouse's beers and spirits
