2 Hour Bonsai Workshop - Seven Mile Brewing Co., Ballina
Bonsai and Brews is a fun, easygoing workshop to share with friends or family, where you leave with a great story (and your own bonsai tree).
This beginner-friendly 2 hour workshop gets you hands-on from the start. Bonsai expert Mason guides you through potting, shaping, and wiring a bonsai, drawing on 30 years of experience and plenty of humour to keep things relaxed.
No experience needed, if you can hold a pair of scissors, you’ll be just fine.
Grab your drink of choice, settle in, and enjoy two hours of practical learning. You’ll head home with your own bonsai, how to care for it, and the confidence to keep it growing long after the event.
You’ll go home with:
A bonsai tree you choose yourself
A ceramic bonsai pot
Two hours of hands-on bonsai learning and wisdom

- Can two people share one tree/ticket?
No. Our events are ticketed per person, not per tree, so everyone attending must have a ticket. This is because space is limited to 30 and we need to be able to sell tickets for every seat we have available. Thank you for understanding.
- How do I attend this event?
Seven Mile Brewing Co in Ballina provides free on-site and street parking along with multiple transport options including walking distance from the nearby airport.

On-Site Parking: Free parking is available in the on-site lot directly at the brewery.
Street Parking: Free street parking is usually easy to find nearby on Southern Cross Drive.
Accessibility: The parking lot features designated wheelchair-accessible spaces.
Transport
Walking / Airport Proximity: The brewery is located at 188-202 Southern Cross Drive, right next to the Ballina Byron Gateway Airport precinct. It is about a 2.4 km (25-minute) walk east from the airport terminal via footpaths on Southern Cross Drive.
Taxi or Ride-Share: A taxi or ride-share from the Ballina CBD takes 10 to 15 minutes and generally costs between $15 and $26.
Public Bus: Local bus services operated by Ballina Buslines run routes near Southern Cross Drive, with fares typically ranging from $3 to $5.
- Can I eat at the venue?
Yes!! We encourage you to enjoy something delicious on offer for dinner before the workshop kicks off.
- When should I arrive to the event?
Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled event to get checked in and grab your drink!
