2 Hour Bonsai Workshop - The Bread Social, Currumbin Waters
Bonsai and Brews is a fun, easygoing workshop to share with friends or family, where you leave with a great story (and your own bonsai tree - valued at $120).
This beginner-friendly 2 hour workshop gets you hands-on from the start. All the way from Jervis Bay on the South Coast, bonsai master Mason guides you through potting, shaping and wiring a bonsai, drawing on 30 years of experience and plenty of humour to keep things relaxed.
No experience needed. If you can hold a pair of scissors, you'll be just fine.
This is as much a community catch-up as it is a workshop, so come early or stay on afterwards and indulge in lunch and treats from the menu. You’ll head home with your own bonsai, a clear understanding of how to care for it, and the confidence to keep it growing long after the event.

- Can two people share one tree/ticket?
No. Our events are ticketed per person, not per tree, so everyone attending must have a ticket. This is because space is limited and we need to be able to sell tickets for every seat we have available. Thank you for understanding.
- How do I attend this event?
Free on-site parking and an electric vehicle (EV) charging station are available at The Bread Social - Currumbin Waters located at 2 Queensbury Avenue.
Parking Options
On-Site Parking: The venue features plenty of free off-street and on-site parking spaces right outside.
EV Charging: An Exploren EV Charging Station is available on-site for electric vehicles. You can activate and pay for the charger using the mobile app.
Busy Times: The car park can fill up quickly on weekend mornings when lines are long, but parking turnover is generally steady.
Public Transport & Getting There
By Car or Rideshare: Driving or taking a rideshare (like Uber) is the easiest and most direct way to reach the bakery, as it sits in an industrial-commercial pocket of Currumbin Waters.
Public Buses: Local Translink bus routes service the broader Currumbin area, but you may need to walk a short distance from the nearest main road bus stop.
- When should I arrive to the event and what else is included?
Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled event to get checked in. You'll receive a complimentary cuppa on us! This is a great time to place an order for anything else you'd like from the menu (at your own cost), whether that's lunch and treats before we start or something to enjoy afterwards.
