Description

NOTE: This is a five-session series, meeting every other week, October 8-December 3, from 12-1:30PM ET.

Meeting dates:

October 8

October 22

November 5

November 19

December 3

As a group, we’ll gather virtually to reflect and inquire together, bringing our lived experiences, questions, and longings for different futures.

This book club is a space to slow down with others doing this work, to build community, and to explore how the questions raised in this book move off the page and into our daily lives, bodies, relationships, and communities. We will use our time also toward practice: asking what it means to actively loosen our attachment to patterns that no longer serve life. Together, we’ll explore how these ideas land in our lived experience…what they unsettle, what they reveal, and what they make newly imaginable.

This is a space for inquiry, reflection, and community as we practice staying with the edges of what is ending, and noticing what might be emerging in its place.

Outgrowing Modernity is the follow-up to Hospicing Modernity, and while reading the first book is not required, we encourage it as a helpful foundation for entering this body of work.

Time Commitment:

1.5-hour Zoom session appx every other week

1–3 hours of reading/reflection between meetings

All of our offerings are designed to be financially accessible. At the same time, this work requires real resources to continue. If you have the means, we invite you to invest in this space so we can keep offering it in a way that is sustainable.
