Book Launch: All Aboard! Discovering Sydney's Central Station
Event description
All Aboard! Book Launch Event
Join us as we celebrate the launch of All Aboard! Discovering Sydney’s Central Station — a vibrant and interactive picture book packed with fun flaps and fascinating facts. Journey through time and discover when Sydney Central station was first created right up until the opening of the modern Sydney Metro. From buildings to passengers, steam to electric, World War Two, overland to underground, this book will bring history and the station to life with engaging text by Jackie French and stunning illustrations by Martina Heiduczek.
We’re thrilled to be joined by special guest Troy Uleman from John McAslan + Partners, who led the design of the Sydney Metro Central Station Upgrade and the new Waterloo Station — part of Australia’s largest-ever transport infrastructure project. Troy will share stories from the station’s past, insights into building the Metro, and what makes Metro trains different from others.
The event will conclude with a specially recorded message from Jackie French herself.
All aboard for an afternoon of discovery and inspiration!
