ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Andrew Clarke is a Melbourne-based journalist and author who started his writing life at the short-lived rebirth of Footy Week in the late 1980s. He has written and edited some 30 books and worked in many industries, blending his love of sport and automobiles with a passion for business and change. His books include Matthew Lloyd: Straight Shooter; Skaifey: Life in the Fast Lane; AJ: How Alan Jones Climbed to the Top of Formula 1; An Awesome Ride; Lydia Lassila: The Will to Fly.

His footballing life started as a youngster in Dromana at the age of six, and took him to umpiring, which he used to pay his way through university. Since then, he has coached junior and multicultural football teams, and loves nothing better than heading to the MCG for a big game when he is not at a car race or debating footballing greatness with family and friends.
