About the book:

Evan Grayson, recently arrived at Cheslington Boarding School in a small western Qld town, from a school in the large city, feels like a bit of a misfit. He is not sure that this is the best place for him, especially when a bushfire threatens to wipe out the school and the township, exacerbated by a lack of water in the creek.

Evan and his friends discover clues left by the Eucalypt Guild half a century earlier, leading them to uncover a trail of corruption and fraud. Evan and his friends encounter some unexpected Australian bush dangers, landing one of the group in hospital, fighting for life.

Corrupt officials learn their secrets are out in the open, and set about trying to stop the group, resulting in a foot chase through the Eucalypt forest. Will the group manage to evade capture and expose the corruption and fraud once and for all? How do the wallabies fit into Evan's new life?
