Book the Succah - 2024
Event description
At Adamama, we are deeply intertwined with the Jewish harvest festival of Succot.
During the week-long festival of Succot, we spend time in an impermanent ‘home’ known as a ‘Succah’. This evokes the temporary dwellings the Israelites inhabited on their way out of Egypt. The Succah is a walled structure covered with organic material.
Our Succah is available for the community to utilise throughout the week of Succot. Book the Succah: Wednesday 16th October from 4pm – until Wednesday 23rd October 9pm. 3 Sessions a day: 8 am – 12 pm, 12:30 pm – 4 pm, 4:30 pm – 9 pm
Below is some information for you to consider if you would like to use this space
- The Succah is in a public space, so you may not always have exclusive use of the space (you could find a picnicking couple or a local bird joining you). We recommend arriving in advance to secure the space and set up the tables and chairs.
- Before the event, you will be sent a photo of our trailer at the nearby carpark and a code for a combination lock to unlock the trailer and access 4 trestle tables, 20 folding chairs, and the Lulav and Etrog that can be used for Succot. All equipment needs to be returned back to the trailer so the next booking will have access to it.
- You will be responsible for removing any waste and keeping the space clean.
- We will not be able to answer any questions on Shabbat or the Festival days however the office will be open on Monday (21.10), Tuesday (22.10) and Wednesday (23.10) if you need anything. If you feel you will have questions, please get in touch with us well before your booking.
